In light of the coronavirus outbreak and the restrictions ordered by our governor, many of you are wondering what will be happening at the church.

At this time, the situation changes daily. Therefore, we are unable to say if and when we will be having services until closer to Sunday morning.

That being said, we will be having prayer meeting this evening and Bible Study tomorrow night as the attendance to both of these gatherings is far below the 50 person limit on social gatherings in Connecticut. The Church Office is open and I am available for prayer and encouragement. Our Food Pantry also has items for those who may be in need.

The Church Council will be meeting shortly to discuss and plan for our short-term future. We are keeping the following in mind:

  • During times such as these, people need prayer, encouragement, community (fellowship) and the ministry of the Word. (Acts 2:42)
  • Lost people are looking for answers and their only hope is Jesus. (Acts 4:12)
  • Any public gathering must be done in such a way as to minimize the risk of passing sickness between individuals.
  • We must pray for and submit to the governing authorities for they are an instrument of God’s blessing.(Romans 13:1-4)

As we seek God for His direction going forward, please assist us by doing the following:

  • Please continue to pray for God’s deliverance from the sickness and the fear that our country is experiencing.
  • Please pray for our governing authorities to live in the fear of the Lord and exhibit the wisdom of God.
  • Call one another, encourage one another and pray with each other. Make an extra effort to contact those who are elderly and those who have not been out to church. We need to maintain a sense of community and connection until things get back to normal.
  • Please let us know of any needs that you have.
  • Please pray for your  church servant-leaders – that we would have the wisdom, grace and strength to minister effectively.

Finally, let us be mindful of the following:

  • God is with you every moment you go through this struggle and will deliver us (Isaiah 43:2&3).
  • Keep your sanity and joy by practicing Philippians 4:8&9 (keeping your thoughts on things that are virtuous and praiseworthy).
  • Remember, God will provide for every need (Philippians 4:19).

May the God of peace continue to grant you His grace and strength!
