Prayer Point for the WeekMay God restore humble faith to the church.

Questions for Reflection:

Ezekiel 37 to 39 deals with the restoration of the nation of Israel. In what ways has the prophecy in Ezekiel been fulfilled? What has yet to be fulfilled? How do recent world events line up with the fulfillment of this prophecy?

In Ezekiel 37, Ezekiel receives a vision of a great army being resurrected from dead bones. Is there a principle in this scripture that can be applied to other situations and if so, what is it? Where do we see this principle in other scriptures?

In Ezekiel 37, God asks Ezekiel a question. What other instances in scripture do we see God do this? For what general purpose does God ask questions? What are the reasons God asked Ezekiel “Can these bones live” and what can we learn from it?

In what ways is Ezekiel’s response similar to the prayer of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane? How do these prayers show us that faith and submission are compatible (if not necessary)? Are your prayers marked by these 2 qualities?

In Ezekiel 37, the “dry bones” in the valley are resurrected into a “vast army.” What does this teach us about the nature of the resurrection power of Jesus Christ? What can we expect can happen in the “dry bones” situations in our lives?
