Prayer Point for the Week – Let us pray that God would give us the faith to look beyond our natural circumstances to have hope for His kingdom and our future.
Questions for Reflection
- In the natural, circumstances usually dictate outcomes. How does this differ from living in the Spirit? What are some examples of the improbable/impossible occurring in scripture and in your life?
- In Joel’s time, God promised restoration to his people. Was God’s promises superceded and if so, what ways? What does that tell us about the restoration ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives?
- Can you have faith without faithfulness? Why or why not? What does a person’s lack of faithfulness say about their faith? How does being faithful aid us in overcoming doubt?
- When we think of repentance, we immediately think of overt sin. What are some other things that believers often need to repent of? How subtle are self-will and self-dependence?
