Prayer Point for the Week – As we approach 2017, let us pray that God would renew our spiritual passion and creativity for the coming year.
Questions for Reflection:
A common theme associated with a relation with Christ is newness. What does scripture teach us about how a person is made new through a relationship with Jesus? How is this “newness” experienced in your life?
Revelation 21 tells us that there will be a New Heaven and a New Earth at the close of time. In what ways will our lives be different from the way they are now? What will be different about our environment? How will our relationship with Christ change?
Romans 12:1&2 tells us that one of the ongoing works of the Holy Spirit in our lives is renewal. In context, how does the Holy Spirit renew us? In light of Lamentations 3:22&23, how often should we expect the renewing ministry of the Spirit in our lives? Is this something that you expect and search for in your life?
Believers run the risk of allowing their relationship and calling of God upon their lives grow stale. How does a stale relationship affect one’s zeal and creativity? How can we tell if our relationship/calling has grown stale? Have you experienced stale periods in your life? How did you work through them?
One way that God renew our calling & ministry is by giving us the gift of creativity. What kinds of ministry require creativity?
Much of what we do for the Lord is repetitive in nature and message. What does the Holy Spirit do to keep us from falling into a rut? How can we facilitate the Spirit’s ministry in our lives?
