Prayer Point for the WeekLet us pray that the Lord would strengthen us to remain faithful no matter what opposition we might encounter.

Questions for Reflection

1. Throughout time, men have opposed the work and people of God. Why are men prone to be moved against people of faith? How does this help us to both understand them and deal with them appropriately as servants of God?

2. On the surface, ridicule seems relatively harmless, but it’s effects on the believer can be quite devastating. Why is that? What Christian character trait should we cultivate in order to overcome the effects of ridicule?

3. One of the things believers deal with from time to time is spiritual insecurity. Why are Christians especially prone to those feelings? How does the nature of faith enable us to overcome those feelings?

4. Jesus tells His disciples to “watch and pray.” What does He mean by that? Why is it important? How does one go about “watching” and “praying?”
