Prayer Point for the Week – Let us pray that we will look at and deal with one another with a renewed sense of love and humility.

Questions for Reflection

1. Have you ever felt jealous of another believer’s blessing? Did you feel shame and if not, should you have? How did you work through those feelings of jealousy? What scriptures helped in the process?
2. Thinking others as less deserving of blessing than our own selves is an issue of pride. How does this attitude affect your relationship with Christ. With others? What guidelines do scripture give us to overcome pride?
3. At some point in our lives, believers struggle with the “fairness” of God. Has there ever been a time when you have been unjustly accused of showing favoritism? How does that help you to deal with the perceived unfairness of God to you or others?
4. Psalm 34:18 tells us that “The LORD is close to the broken hearted . . .”. When going through difficulty we can fall into self-condemnation when we see the prosperity of others. How is this pain any different from other pain we experience as believers? Is God any less compassionate in these instances?
