UPDATE: added more bands, and bumped this post on Facebook

So you’re a Christian, you know you like the Rolling Stones, but you want to listen to music that glorifies God…All you know about “Christian Rock” is Petra and Stryper…or maybe you don’t know anything!

Well, thank God those early days of wandering around in the desert are over. Today’s Christian songlist is as wide and varied as can be. Sure, there are some stinkers in there, but don’t feel afraid to ditch that old AC/DC collection and jump into some really REALLY good music. Here is what I did:

  1. I found ONE band that I liked.  In my case, it was Thousand Foot Krutch.
  2. Then I got an account on Pandora.com. This is a streaming music website that creates custom “stations” based on a band, artist, song that you enter to start it up.
  3. Pandora will then try to play other music that is similar to that one “seed” song that you entered.  Hear something you like? Give it a Thumbs Up.  Terrible?  Thumbs Down.
  4. Eventually it will get it and you will get music that is enjoyable, and something you won’t be embarrassed to listen to.

To help others, I will try to make a “Secular Genre to Christian” music list.  If you have more, make a comment!  I will add them to the main list!

Remember, the groupings below are slightly subjective and are my opinion… 🙂
