Prayer Point for the Week – Let us pray that God would help us to realize that with Him, all things are possible.
Questions for Reflection:
The Christian life is a life that is to marked by faith. How does faith impact our reaction to our failures? How should faith impact our thinking when facing difficulties? As a person who has faith in Christ, how do you personally react to difficult/impossible circumstances?
1 Peter 5:7 tells us to literally throw our needs to Jesus. What idea is Peter trying to convey using this word? Is there a difference between sharing your needs with Jesus as opposed to giving them to Him? Which do you practice in your life?
There are times that people share their struggles with Christ but go on to try to resolve their issues themselves or give into despair. Read 1 Peter 5:6. What insight does this scripture give us as to the reason some believers are unable to give their impossible circumstances?
Sometimes we give situations to Christ only to take them back again. Read Matthew 6:27-33. What does this tell us about worry in relation with faith? How is this essentially “taking back” our problems from Jesus? According to Jesus, what positive things come from worry? Reflect upon times in your life that you worried? Did it help the situation in any way? Have you ever made a mistake as result of worrying?
Facing tough situations can tempt us to pull back from service and worship. Are there scriptures where God excuses people from service because things are too tough? Are their times that God has called upon you when you were in an impossible situation to serve and encourage others? What was your response? How did your faithfulness glorify God? How did your faithfulness help you to grow in faith?
