Prayer Point for the Week – Let us pray that we keep the Lord the center of our lives as we engage in summer activities.
Questions for Reflection:
In addition to sandals and a ring, the Prodigal Son was also given a robe when he returned to his father. What insight does the story of Joseph give us regarding the significance of the robe? How is this also related in Matthew 6:28&29?
In Deuteronomy 5, we see that we are able to experience some measure of the glory of God. How did the glory of God affect the Israelites? What feelings should we expect when we experience the glory of God? What changes should it produce in our lives?
Romans chapter 8 tells us that the glory of God shall be revealed in us. How does our standing as “joint-heirs” relate to this truth? Is there a danger of misinterpreting that scripture and if so, what is it? How can we keep this honor in it’s proper perspective?
A robe is meant to be worn and displayed. How do we go about properly displaying the glory of God? How does glorifying God go beyond praise? What aspects of the work of God should we demonstrate in our lives?
Isaiah 29:13 teaches us that solely giving lip service to the Lord is highly insufficient. What does Matthew 5:16 tell us is critically necessary for us to properly glorify God in the eyes of man? In what ways have you glorified God in this fashion this past week? What areas to you need to improve upon?
