Prayer Point for the WeekLet us pray that God would move mightily during the Power of One outreach this Friday!

Questions for Reflection:

Read Hebrews 12:14. What is gained by walking in holiness? Why is that so important? What was the response of people who “saw God” in scripture? How do some in the body of Christ go about encouraging people to maintain their faith in Jesus? Why do many of those things fail?

1 Peter 1:16 remind followers of God of their responsibility to be holy. Read 2 Timothy 2:20&21. How does this scripture illustrate the calling of purity? What does it say about the responsibility of service. Are holy people considered common or more than common? How much more? How does that influence your your attitude towards holiness?

Our text states that the battlefield of the believer is the mind. In addition to our lusts, what 2 other things in 2 Corinthians 10 plague our minds? Have you ever struggled with human arguments that went against your faith and practice in Christ? What was so appealing about them? What can be done to refute them?

Some people paint Christ as an impersonal God who seldom interacts with His followers. Read 2 Corinthians 6:6-18. What does this teach us about the nature of the presence of God in human lives? What, if anything, does this scripture tell us He is saying? How is our relationship characterized in verse 18 if we listen to His call?

1 Corinthians 9 tells us that believers are to live a disciplined life. How is the believer called to handle his/her thought life? Does your thought life ever wander into areas it should not? What is your response to “wandering” if any? What should it be?
